UniCare Life & Health Insurance Company, a subsidiary of WellPoint, adopted the brand name for most companies, WellPoint offers outside of California in 1995. In 1996, WellPoint acquired the group health and life business of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. Then in 1997, WellPoint acquired the group health and life insurance from John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. In 2000, WellPoint acquired Rush Prudential Health Plans, based in Illinois, the companies were linked to existing UniCare activities.UniCare in Market Business Units (MBUS), each structured as a full service organization that serves certain customers organized. Some jobs MBUS in several states for large companies, employers offer group. Other companies have a regional focus. UniCare has "A" received (excellent) by AM Best. As a national organization, the work of a plan quality health care and deliverables, UniCare offers a comprehensive set of plans and health care products at competitive prices.
